Well except for the sunken boat.

This was from Wednesday morning. The guy and his dog are probably both alive because they were wearing life jackets. They did find the sunken boat early Wednesday morning.

There is audio of the original mayday call at the source link below. It's on the right side of the page. The rest of the audio is on the scanner page.

Cops rescue man, dog off Lake St. Clair park

A Grosse Pointe Park man and his dog, both wearing life vests, were rescued today by Grosse Pointe Park public safety officers after the man's boat hit a submerged object and took on water in the area of St. Clair Shores.

The U.S. Coast Guard in Detroit received a single distress call on a marine-band channel from the unidentified 36-year-old man about 2:25 a.m., officials said. The man said his boat struck the object and was quickly taking on water, according to the Coast Guard.

A multi-agency search by water and air was launched.

A Grosse Pointe Park resident heard someone shouting for help from Lake St. Clair and called public safety about 4:45 a.m., Grosse Pointe Park Police Chief David Hiller said.

That's when officers found the man and the dog in the water near the breakwall in the park at the end of Windmill Pointe Drive. The officers reached down and pulled the pair to safety.

The man refused medical attention and was taken home, and the dog was fine, police said.
