Local - Obviously Ponchos not to crazy about it though

But if we are out and about Plaza Mexico in East Pointe on 9 mile.

What ticks me off is Dr. Pepper isn't served at Taco Bell

Roberto's in Las Vegas.

AWESOME Carne Asada steak burritos. They are bigger than a Grilled Stuft burrito, ALL steak, and then you get pico de gallo, sour cream and guac on it.

The Mexican Street Vendor selling tacos out of a cart in San Luis. Good stuff, but watch the raw veggies!

Locally, have not really found anything that compares.

Other than my home cooked Mexican (my specialty
) my favorite Mexican restaurant of all time ...Hat Dance in Chicago...I heard it closed, though. Other than that, there's no place like Xochimilco

I like almost any Mexican restaurant I walk in...going downtown is good, or the place Focker mentioned, or Juan's on Dequindre or El Charro's....Don Pablo's is pretty good....I miss Mexico and the little people.

Mexican=one of my favs! and I'm not even hungry.

Haven't made a detroit run in a long time...it has to be at least three years now. We tried the one directly across from Xochimico (white bldg) liked it better...

Either way you can't loose in Mexican Village!

QUOTE(Focker @ Apr 14 2004, 09:59 PM)For some reason I like Mexican Village on VanDyke north of 21 mile. The Burrazo (sp) rules!!! Maybe because it is the closest to home.

Damn it... now I'm craving it!!!

Been to that one too...they're good!

Roberto's is definately my favorite, but locally Don Pablos.

We went to Ponchos on Green Street, because it is the only Mexican around (except Taco Bell) and we weren't to impressed but everything is worth a try.

The white building across from Xochimilco is El Zocalo. We ate there last friday and everything was great. That used to be our favorite restaurant and I'd pick up Chrisitine from UM-D and we'd head down there just about every Sunday.

Now the closest is El Nibble Nook on Haggerty (far west side) and is pretty decent. If you go to Royal Oak, Zumba on Main across from the theater is great but more like a taco/burrito stand with limited seating. It's a regular stop coming home from a day on the lake.

Oh, and a couple of chain places opened up around us last year. Que Pasa - might translate to "I'll pass", but Baja Fresh is not bad.
