Fire Department Interfering AGAIN!

I don't know how many times the Fire Department has interfered with my parting! I missed another great party last night. It all started around 2:40 in the afternoon, when Chesterfield Twp. had a report of a brush fire. They started to call for help from other departments as soon as they got on scene. The brush fire burned more then 1 square mile and it took 9 departments (Chesterfield, New Baltimore, Ira Twp, Clay Twp, Lenox Twp, New Haven, Macomb Twp, Mt Clemens, and Selfridge) until about 7 to get the fire under control. We all got to leave the scene by 8:30 and then the clean up of our equipment started. It took us until 10 to get our trucks clean and back in service. By this time I was totally drained!

I hope to make the party next year!

We saw that fire all the way from Jefferson Beach. Wondered what was going on. We saw the Fox 2 Chopper circling by the water that way.

Needless to say we didn't make the party either. Can't wait to hear all the gossip and see the pics.

Yes it was a big fire, and yes everyone is ok. I think they only lost one house and it was an old one that has been empty for some time. I bitch about all the parties and fun I am missing but I wouldn't give up the Fire Department for anything! I love giving something back to the community!

the effort it takes to contribute in some way can definitely be strenuous or tedious or whatever the case may be. Sometimes efforts go unnoticed or are not as productive as we'd like them to be. Every now and then, when you get to see the results of your labor......well, all I know is you cant put a price tag on what you get to feel in your heart

We were at metro with My three sons, summer sled, one happy island, and fat bottom girl and the ashes were floating through the air and landing on the boats. It was hard to believe it was so far away. Then a couple hours later there was a big brush fire at Metro next to the golf course. Fire trucks and choppers again.

Nice to see Beach bum and Instigator, Hop, Bill272 and Freckles stop by on Sunday. What a great three days.
