I have never owned a fish finder but am cosidering buying one. Any info as to what make, model etc. would be helpful. Is the pixel # as importent as the adds lead us to beleave? I have about $300 to spend
Pixel display is one important feature, allow you to get a better picture by allowing sharper detail. Another would be frequency, usually 200mhz or 50 mhz. Some units offer duel cones which has both. If fishing LSC, 50 mhs would be the choice. I think the Humminbird makes some nice units that will be in the price range. Lowrance also has some units that might fit as well. Make sure you get one that displays surface temp.
There are also some new 3d units available, never have used one so I cant comment, maybe someone else has?
