It started out really nice. Really calm water. We ( me & a friend of mine bill) launched from harley and headed out just to the south in the weed beds. It tossed a bass pattern spook and caught 2 1lbs largies and then switched to the wounded baitfish version fished I tried a steady pull but it wasn't working So I tried it with short jerks and caught another.

We then headed south of GPYC and tried the drop offs down there with nothing.

Hit the dumping grounds casting to different humps and weed patches with nothing. The wind got bad so we headed back to the west shore closer to the DR and bill got a follow and hit from a mid 40's 'skie on a lipless rattle bait. Some how he didn't get the hooks to sink.

Got buzzed, within 40', by a 45 foot boat on plane. A$$ holes!!!!!!!!!
. Unfortunately I forgot my big sinkers back in the jeep. I wont forget them again!

So we headed back north sticking really close to shore. Made a quick stop to hit some rip rap along the mile roads. Nothing there. Headed up to SANG and started th catch some small largies right out front on different rattlin baits. Bill finally managed to catch a few.
Decided to hit anglers point & picked up 2 top water 'skie baits & a black muskie jig.

came back out got rained on & headed over by the salt river and tossed big bucktails. BIll caught a largemouth on a black with hot orange blade buchertail. To finish off the day just before sunset I had a 36 incher follow a red buchertail with red & chartreuse blade.
In total boated about 10 bass.

Was it a Fountain? I got slammed by a clown in a Fountain yesterday in Anchor Bay. Again probably 40' away. His boat was as long as he was away from me, so yeah probaby 40' or so.

He was "coutreous" enough to slow down when he came by....thus throwing a larger wake. The only good thing about these clowns rolling through is that in their "wake" they can stun and disorient small bait fish and turn on a momentary feeding frenzy. I remember last year the fishing was dead all morning and then a Four Winns came by right where I was casting and in his wake I caught two pike and a bass in about 10 minutes. Then after it settled down the fishing died again. I've heard of other guys capitalizing on the same thing happening.

I really dont remember what kind of boat is was. I was way to pissed to remember what kind it was. I threw my red eye at the boat but backlashed so it didn't hit it.

I wouldn't have thought about someones wake actually turning the fish on. I always assumed the opposite. Hmmm I'll have to remember that one.

And I agree it's nice to have a boat large enough to handle the bigger waves. The boat was fine I was just getting tired of being bounced around. Steering with the TM was basically a walk the dog affair if I wanted to be able to work any kind of structure.

What time were you fishing by the Salt? Me & my buddy were over there just before 7:00 PM & fished until midnight. We were the 2 fat guys in a small white boat.

I'm guessing 6 or 6:30 till sunset? Not sure on time we headed over there after visiting anchor point so it was before 7...I think.
We were in a vip center console (big dark gray stripe down the side white otherwise. Seat mounted in the front) with 2 guys in green(ish) rain gear. We fished kinda close to the north shore and then I ran the trolling motor & took use out a bit further before we finally left.
