Hello, I'm wondering about the documentation needed besides a canadian fishing license to fish in Canadian waters. I don't plan on going ashore, just trolling offshore. Do you need I68's etc? what about boaters safety? I keep hearing conflicting info.

Thanks very much.

I fish canadian waters all the time and I dont own an I68. Get an Ontario License and get fishing!

You will need a working flashlight, a whistle and you cannot have 12ga flares. No beer in the boat unlesss you have a permanent head.

Just one other 2 cent suggestion, make sure your life preservers are visible and handy if not on. The Ontario Coast Guard (or what ever they are called) can be a little sticky about them. When Carpfisher and I were stopped last year they had a DNR officer (or what ever they are called) riding shotgun so we got checked out by both at the same time. The CG guy was very polite but the DNR guy was not very friendly at all. Good luck,

Jim
