This may seem like a "no brainer," but what worked for me before I had a boat was to download contour maps from http://www.charts.noaa.gov/OnLineViewer/Gr...ewerTable.shtml

Then do some mapquesting to find parks and access sites there is deep water close by, and put 2+2 together.

A good one for 'eyes (especially in the fall) is the point at the mouth of the Clinton River. Be great if you bring along a large plastic bag, and pick up some of the horrible amount of trash so many slobs leave there. Expect to get snagged on a lot of terminal tackle, too. Don't use expensive lures.

search stormchaser's threads, he does alot of shore fishing and catches all kinds of fish, think he usually fishes the spillway and metro.

brandenburg park, ruedisale park, selfridge, metro beach, the spillway....theres plenty of places to shore fish. Ive had best luck @ brandenburg from shore using shallow divin cranks and mepps spinners. Also have had luck on tubes rigged texas. If all else fails...something im TOTALLY against, but works...
