Fishing at Fairhaven was poor on Thursday with most anglers returning with nothing. They were seeing mostly small fish in their holes. Anglers who went out from the Raft were more successful because they were fishing more to the East of the Fairhaven group.
The best fishing reports continue to come from Brandenburg Park where a late afternoon bite seems to occur on a fairly regular basis. I have not been there in several days but anglers continue to report it is happening.
Another site to check out is Ruedisale Park at the end of Ruedisale Street north of New Baltimore. Free parking is available for about 10 vehicles and anglers report some fair catches from time to time.
Keep in mind that our surveys show about 10% of the anglers on a given day catching more than 10 fish worth keeping. Close to 60% catch nothing of any size on a given day. Hard to believe, but that's what we see. We do miss all anglers coming in after 6:30 PM however, and I have seen some of my best catches in the late afternoon.
