Fished from 7 AM to 3 PM today out from the Crocker Road launch. Moved around - from 10 fow out from 10 Mile and then north as far up as the 400 Club out in 16 fow. Slow morning, then found numbers of SM and perch out from the 400 Club in 14-16 fow, caught about 5-6 bass (biggest about 3 lbs) and a few perch. Marked many fish in pods of 3-5 in this area, but relatively few hits. Caught only two small SM down by 10 Mile.

Enjoyed the H2O approach today which worked well, although I substituted 4 lb test PowerPro: 1/4 oz plain round jig tied direct with Gulp natural crawler or cream grub. A couple of the bass came on a 4" watermelon tube texas-rigged.

Excellent Mike: that heavier jig might of made you work it to fast. You might of got instead of 6, 15 bass with the 1/8oz jig. lol I want to try the 4lb power pro. but i hear it wears the guide's out faster especially the first eyelet, I'll get some and try it. That stuff sure is the high end price but if it last longer it's worth it.

h2o<---says good job nice bass

I'll try the 1/8 oz next time, for sure. The 1/4 oz was fishing a bit fast. I got the Power Pro only because I was at Andy's in Allen Park and he was out of the 4 lb Fireline. I just bought enough to attach to my mono backing (Andy's sell some lines off big spools by the foot, so it wasn't too expensive.) Next line change it'll be Fireline.

Tell you what - it's real nice to put down the big rods and crankbaits and run ultralight. I almost forgot how much fun it is to fish this way!
