Fishing Stoney 6-25-2009

This is my first time fishing this year. I am in between semesters at school and after I dropped my daughter off at my mother-in-laws, I figured since I have the time I might as well hit Stoney and try some shore fishing. Grabbed my gear and headed over. I got to the north dam around 1. Only 3 small largemouth. The first one was caught on a popper. Second one was caught off of a rapala skitter prop. The last one was caught on a red weightless Gulp turtleback worm. The first two were only about 10 inches and the last one was about 12 inches. Only got to fish until 2:30 as I could see that the weather was starting to turn bad, quick. I was amazed that some people were still fishing even when the ranger came by and told everyone that severe weather was coming. Glad I left when I did, it started pouring as soon as I left the park. Sorry, no pics. I know it's nothing big to report on, but it was just exciting to finally get out this year. Hopefully, I will be out on LSC on sunday or monday with a buddy of mine that has a boat. Hopefully, I will have something more substantial to report on (with pics!

Just an fyi- they rent row boats for $5/hour which is a much better way to go than shore fishing, especially now that the water temperature has got much warmer.

Yeah, I was debating that. But, I figured since bad weather was coming, I didn't want to get stuck out on the lake. lol
