Clinton, both the main and north branch, paint creek between lake orion and rochester, belle river, in spots, also kersley creek up towards Lapeer. Always the huron and rouge rivers also. lots of spots on lake st. clair and stoney creek, as well as numerous lakes and ponds around.
Some are easy to fish others can be real confining

If there are fish in the lake you can fly fish it. If you fish a lake with a slow moving current then you have to strip the line to get the fly to move. If you fish the clinton river or paint creek then you let the current drift the fly. So far my most productive flies have been a pheasant tail and ears hair. I've caught bluegills, pumkin seeds, perch, crappie, rock bass, and largemouth bass on the pheasant tail. If youre just looking to catch fish use a small fly with a #14 hook.

Paint Creek has some browns.

Clinton River has stocked steelhead smolts.

Other than that - head North young man.
