So I have heard that fishing the ford cove for bass was a really effective place, but I tried this weekend and all I got was a big mess of weeds every cast on my black tube jig. Anyone have any advice on fishing the ford cove?

Also, thanks to the boater that towed me in when my battery died!!!

I used to fish Ford Cove very successfully 6 or 7 years ago dragging tubes but the lake has changed a lot of the past 6 or 7 years. Due to clearer water weeds now grow where the bottom was barren before. Last year I found areas of heavy weeds as deep as 17 FOW. The LSC ecosystem is ever changing. There are many areas that you just can't drag a tube anymore and it gets even worse as the summer progresses. The fish are still in Ford Cove and other areas like it but you have to fish diffently to catch them. Try a white/char spinner bait or jerkbait over the weeds in 7+ FOW and you will catch fish.
