), intermittent is most likely wiring. Second guess, the sender. Third guess, the gage.

Gas gage question
Well started out at 1/3 tank this year. Put 100.00 in when I floated her had about 3/4ths tank. Took her to metro and back then to the moot still seemed 1/2 tank. All of a sudden took her for a ride and 0 gas as I left marina so put another 100 in guage moved up to 1/2 tank after taking a ride. Went to moot and back back to 0. So no boatin last week end wednesday I put 100 in and after 60 I had a full tank and guage reading now 1/8-1/4 tank... Should I focus on the sender or the guage...

I'm a BIG fan of the FloScan. It works fantastic! Then you'll know what you're burning (be a little more economical to save some cash!!

I agree 100%.. I have them and they are great.. When refuleing I always know exactly how much I need +/- a couple gallons depending on whether or not I ran my Genny between fillups.

Yes I can too, but while thats a prediction my flow meter is a known figure and has always been 100% accurate. If my digital reading says I burned 100 gallons of gas I know I burned 100 gallons of gas as long as I didn't run my genny.. I might make 3 or 4 runs before I fill up my tanks so I don't rely on my GPS trip logs to predict how much gas I burned. At the beginning of the season I top off my tanks and reset the flow meter to 0 and after every fill up I reset it back to 0 that way I always know how much fuel I have on board.

Of course you are right. I totally agree it would be nice to always have an accurate reading. I don't have your generator "problem."

I reset the trip mileage at each fill up, and the total mileage at the beginning of the season. That's how I know I'm nearing 900 miles this year. (Damn! have no idea how that happened!!!)
I wish someone would come up with a product that could utilize the existing components in computer controlled fuel injection systems. Probably wouldn't be as accurate as dedicated flow measuring equipment, but the reduced cost and ease of installation might prove a worthwhile tradeoff.
