Going walleye fishing

787 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  topwater1
This Wed or Thurs (prob Thurs) I WILL take out the boat, give it the regular "first time out" break in run/test, and fish for the delicious walleye (fillets) which have been a long time coming!

I will let all know what happened and hopefully how I caught 'em. Friends have been out with some success on the Detroit River.

Caught my limit on Monday in 2 1/2 hours near Wyandotte. Should get even better in the next few days.

Sorry kids, no report. An accident
has taken me out of the loop for awhile. I'll have to depend on your reports to entertain me.
Geez, Mac, if it's not a family illness, it's an injury taking me out. Hope my back is good for some pounding
on the lakes this summer.
Fish are biting at the upper end of the Detroit R. between Peche Is. and Windsor. My last first-person report had them out in front of Sand Point beach just off the channel dropoff hitting jigged minnows, better with chartr. somewhere on the jig.
Take care everyone. Tim J.

,.....man that bites!!!...Hope you're back up and rippin' lips in no time!! I don't see myself getting out on the river until late april anyway, so maybe you'll be okay by then....we'll hook up.....I can swing into a Marina on your side and you can hop in my boat and we'll go play,.......get well soon!!

Thanks Mac.
Any other time, I would be out fishing and play through the pain but since someone else is paying for this, I was advised not to play!
