I fished the 9 mile shoreline Sunday from 6:30 AM till 11:30 AM. The water temperature was 67 degrees, and there was a slight wind out of the north. The water depth was 6-8ft. I caught a couple of nice walleyes, and a smallmouth using a silver and blue Husky Jerk. I used a fast retrieve with a slight twitching action
. I held the rod high to keep the lure above the weeds. The walleyes hit extremely hard, I thought that they were smallies. I lost a monster largemouth using the same method. That bass looked like a Honey Baked ham with fins. This all happened between 6-8:30 AM. I didn't have another strike till about 10:00 AM. I switched to a silver and black Husky Jerk. Then I caught a couple of nice smallies, and a 32 inch pike. I had one muskie follow the lure to the boat. The only fish that I caught all day were on the Husky Jerks using the same retrieve. Good Luck. BB
