We have this crappy orange chair that belonged to my wife's grandparents. Not a high quality piece of furniture to begin with. She got one quote of $625 to get it reupholstered and we have been fighting about that for about a year. My issue is that for that amount she could actually go buy a nicer chair that she actually likes, after we get this done it will still be a $20 chair. Anyone have recommendations for a place who does a decent job reupholstering furniture at a reasonable price?

do u know why upholstery is so expensive ? I took a course.
it's because it truly is labor intensive unless it's a simple design - like a dining room chair.
(those are super easy)

I am guessing that the chair holds sentimental value to your wife. You'll have to consider that too.
What does it look like ? can u post a pic ?? If it's not too hard....I'd give it a try. But remember...
the material alone is pricey.

Maybe a slip cover ? even really pretty sheets pinned in key places can bring an old chair back to life.
