He played music and clips for the first 1.5 hours of his show to give his listeners a taste of what is coming.
I think it's all crap. Clear Channel sux anyways. I am sick of hearing the same music over and over again. I liked it when dj's could actually pick the music they played.

I hate Clear Channel Entertainment and I plan to write hate letters.
Whether you like what Howard says or not, he has a right to say it. He speaks what most people too afraid to say!!

I was a casual listener of Howard Stern up until 9-11. The show he did on that day made me a huge fan. The whole world was coming apart right in his neiborhood and he stayed on the air till noon giving updates and taking calls from people on the street. Sometimes he gets nasty for sure but I dig his honesty and after 9-11 I gained a huge amount of respect for him. Also, I'm a guy and sorry girls, I also dig naked chicks, even if I can't see them.

There's no doubt that Stern had the best show on 9-11....I'll agree with that.
But I do have to say that I think the show has jumped the shark. I don't want to hear about the FCC this and the FCC that. Sure I want to hear about it but not for a week straight. There has to be something else to talk about. I pray that he leaves and goes to XM. I'm a XM listener and would welcome him there.

this was the real shocker to me > > the FCC is pushing to raise the fines of violating guidelines by astronomical proportions. The old fines were 27,500 - the new fines = 500,000.
just think of all that extra $$ the gubment will acrue and blow any way they deem necessary

From what I understand, Clear Channel changed their policy and never informed any of their shows. Also, they turned him off because a caller called in and said the N word and then Howard hung up on him right away. I don't know, he does a lot of funky stuff, but this one doesn't seem right.
The good news is that, the 6 areas he lost will get picked up by smaller local channels at a cheaper rate, giving the small radio owner a chance! I'm always for the independent business person!

Welcome to fascism.
And the FCC is run by Powells brother, a non-elected position in which you can't even bring to court.
All I can say is vote Bush the lunatic out. He almost has the church running this country, what happened to seperation of church and state? Like Howard says, if you don't like it, turn the damn dial. I don't want anyone's right to speak taking away.
And by the way, I'm Catholic, but I don't want them running the government.

First....Colin Powell's SON was appointed, not his brother.
Second, a comparison to the FCC censorship with Fascism is unfounded. Censorship is a very small part of Fascist beliefs.
The word fascism has come to mean any system of government resembling Mussolini's. A system that puts a nation and sometimes a race above the individual, and uses violence and techniques of propaganda (which do include censorship to a degree) to forcibly suppress political opposition, and also engages in severe economic and social regimentation, espousing nationalism and racism.
Nazism is usually considered a type of fascism, but it should be understood that although Nazism sought the state's purpose in serving an ideal to deciding what values its content should be, the Nazi people, their race, and the social engineering was all geared to the ends of the greatest possible prosperity for them at the expense of ANY other race or being.
Mussolini's Fascism held to the beliefs that all of these factors existed to serve the state and that it WASN"T necessarily in the state's interest to serve or engineer any of these as a priority for prosperity. The only purpose of the government under Fascism was to value itself as the highest priority to its CULTURE in just being the state in itself, and all things worked towards the betterment of the state.
Nazism was a metapolitical form of socialism, seeing itself only as the vehicle by which an unquestioned allegiance of its people was its goal.
Fascism was a blatantly ANTI-socialist form of government that existed as an end in and of itself, not the means to an end.
