Hey guys, are any members of this site out fishing on the rivers or lake yet? The fish should be biting! Let's start seeing some reports on here to help everyone out. My boat is still in storage. Waiting for the weather to get a bit warmer before I take her out. The first place I will be fishing is in the Clinton River so I can cash in on those perch before they move out of there. They should be around in there spawning until early May I would think, but there are some variables that would regulate their movements. Should be showing up in the river now.

If anyone gets out there, use minnows, worms or plastics on a dropshot rig, or on a perch spreader or crappie rig and you should do o.k. Try to find the edges of some weeds in the river, in front of the sheriff's building at the Harley Ensign site. Be sure to post if you get out anywhere.

Starting in early May, enjoy catching the rockies, gills & sunnies behind Selfridge near the barracks. Don't forget about the catfish out by the spillway. Smallies almost anywhere, mile roads, the ditch, by Metro Park, behind Selfridge, in the reeds behind or near Strawberry Island, Muscamoot Bays, the edges of the north, south and middle channels.

Walleyes mainly in the SCR, but the lake is good for walleyes as well. The shipping lane and dumping grounds are my two favorite places for the eyes, but out from the old 'Geno's' place, the '400' club and the Salt River are still good places for those eyes in the lake too. I usually use a bottom bouncer dragging some worm harnesses for the eyes. Enjoy your boating season & be safe out there. Hope these tips help some of you out. That's what this site is all about!

Let's see some fish reports and get this fishing site going again like it was back a few years ago!!! We need reports posted. (y)(y)

Great reminder to post Iggy. You mentioned that you're going to hit the Clinton River soon. About 10 days ago I landed this 9 pound Redhorse Sucker further up the Clinton River. You never know what fishing is going to give you.

I'm hoping to do some today once it gets a little warmer. Still only about 27F right now, and don't feel like dealing with that level of cold.

Wow, that is huge indeed! I bet that fight was a good one. Do you smoke or can the suckers? I usually just put them back in after I catch them. I no longer have a smoker. I do my sucker fishing in the Clinton River in Utica at a local park there. I am planning on going out there on Tuesday to get a few. I am itching to get my boat out of storage, so I may do that on Tuesday as well so I can get out to the Harley site and cash in on some perch that spawn in the river. :)
