whew! here's my report on what to expect:

LINES: crazy linage. the line for merchandise is double the size of the restaurant line. we got there at 10:45am. got in at noon. drank til they sat us at 1pm. left at 2:40pm.

FOOD: oh. my. gosh. the food is exquisite. you would expect the kitchen to be working out its bugs... no way. the food came to us quickly, and it was GREAT!! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!! for sure! we had the spring roll appetizer, crazy mac& cheese, and sirlon & spuds... totally worth the hour wait outside!!

DRINKS: sorta expensive. for a mc ultra & bacardi o3, it was $9. you can get a souvenir pilsner with a draft beer for $9.99. i took one for the team drank 2 so i could have two glasses because...

SOUVENIR BUYING IN THE RESTAURANT: no,uh uh. if you want souvenirs, for now, you have to wait in a seperate line. you can not order tees and sweats from the table. you CAN ONLY get them in the shop. glassware, you can get from the bar, as long as you order the hurricane, beers, or shooters. but that's IT.

LOCATION: there are 2 parking lots directly north of the HRC. it is located on the corner of monroe & woodward.

SIZE: dude, the place is small! picture randogs with a taller ceiling, better decor, and cooler peeps. this place rocks ambience wise. every 2 hours, the entire staff YMCA's for ya'll. it's priceless.

DOORGUY: is larry, who played the doorguy in '8 mile' as well as was a judge with incognito at the war of the pour at fishbones. lol!

i had a BLAST for an afternoon! i highly recommend visiting! here's my pics...

Why would your mom die just because you are on TV?

Whay didn't ya invite me??? I woulda joined y'all. I love the Hard Rock in Chicago. Great atmosphere, and the service and food are much better than Planet Hollywood (which actually didn't make it in Chicago). I agree about the souvenirs - prices are stoopid!

HR hotel is cool also, pool is off the hook. We ate a 4am meal next to the band Whitesnake about 7 or 8 years ago, when I was there for a convention. Stayed at the Mirage, but if I went with Jules or the guys, I would definitely look into the Hard Rock.

Yeah the Hard Rock Hotel pool is the schiznit! Always younger celeb's hanging around on the weekends I guess. Always good scenery for the guys and gals(no i'm not gay). The rooms are decent too. With different colors schemes and themes, not that we spent much time there. Nine guys for a bachelor party a couple years ago, we tore up the town pretty good, between clubs, casino's, and "dancers".

If ya go you gotta eat at "The Pink Taco" (I love saying that
). It's the restuarant in the Hotel. The nightclub inside is cool to. Its hidden away kinda so ask about it.

I always check their pool cams online when it cold as heII here in the middle of the winter .

Can't wait to get a chance to go downtown to the new HR!
