OK, who els is appauled by rising health insurance cost's ?
My Blue Cross, PPO went up 24% this year !
The cost of living only went up 2%
How is this outragous increase warranted ?
Prescriptions co pay gone up, deductables from $100-$250 no longer exist, they are now $500- $2000

There has to be something we can do, drug companies are earning record profit's, ceo record bonus's....
I am single, my company i work for cover's a large quantity of the cost for me, i do pay 37.00 a week though.
I really feel bad for families, that are paying 120-150 a week for insurance !

QUOTE(pirlgirl @ Apr 22 2003, 03:41 PM)what about health insurance you buy for yourself if you're self employed, how much is that a year?
comparable coverage to a PPO from an employer....
Instagator, any input?
comparable ppo, for man and wife, approx $750-900 a month, my dad was paying $835 a month when he was laid off last year.

Ummm....Max, are you talking about per MONTH? I wanted to get Blue Cross (through our very own, ever so knowledgeable Instigator) and it was over 900 PER MONTH....
I WISH I could get Health Insurance for $37 a week, Eddie...I know....you're just going to say....you wish you had my tax benefits....ok ya wanna know how much THAT bill was?

And just think...I am one of the people that helps these healthcare companies give the CEOs larger bonuses...
I love my business

hahahahahahahahahahahaha! You are SO FUNNY! (You forgot worthless...) luv ya man.

And the issue with health insurance is the ONLY ISSUE I have with being in business for myself...yeah, I got a tax bill. But not too bad for not paying any ALL YEAR...

I won't have to pay my Ex's health insurance in a few more months...maybe he'll get A JOB and cover the kids... oh boy. Never Mind.

Perks of being a weak, worthless self-sufficient woman.....

My guy is self employed and pays $137 per month for his insurance. It's not that great, but if he were to end up in the hospital, they will pay for the bulk of it.
I'm not a Clinton Fan, but it would be nice to have healthcare just for being a citizen! Everyone always compares it to Canada's but in reality, Canada's isn't bad, just ask Canehdian Girl, no one ever compares it to Japan, Sweden, Netherlands, or Australia. The United States is the only industrialized nation without universal healthcare in the world!

Yeah, I'm talking about for a "single self employed person". No kids or other dependents......thank goodness..... sounds like an extra house payment for you family folks!!!

:::::::::::::::::::::::::
Puppetshow, what do you get for that $325
and from who?
I know a persons age and pre-existing conditions also come into the picture too.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::
Moneyshot, I'd like more info on that $137 too please.
