I have been reading this post for a while and learned quite a bit. What to use, where to go, and the such. I even went out and bought a fish finder but still cannot catch anything. At this point I would be happy with catching a minnow!! Any advice at all anyone can give at this point would be great. I plan to go out tomarrow morning from the jefferson/crocker DNR launch. I have read in front of gino's or the 400 club are a few good spots. I'll go there but would should I use that will work! I thank you guys for all the info you have given already and the info in the future ahead of time. I am new to fishing from a boat(first one this year) and it is different from the shore(hook, line, worm, sinker).

My husband and I was out on friday from 2pm till 8pm. We were in front of the 400 club. I had my line in maybe 2 minutes caught a 18 1/2 inch walleye, guess it was luck cause I didn't catch anything after that, But I was the first one to put a real fish in our new boat lol. We were using purple harness with bottom bouncers which we bought at the tackle shop right by the Jefferson/crocker launch. If you ask the guys in there they will tell you whats best to use they were alot of help to us. We are going out on sunday morning hope we catch something, well as long as I out fish my husband, brother and friends I will be happy lol.Hope I was some help to you.

ajaxthe2nd: Welcome to the SCN. Casting a 1/8oz. ball head jig tied direct to 4lb or 6lb line with a berkley 3in. gulp or power grub will put fish in the boat. Promise. Cast it out keep it off the bottom and hang on. FireLine is good to use because they are small dia. and real strong. Give it a try and you will have a blast, Keep it simple and enjoy.

Smallie'sSis has good advice wtg girl. You got the first fish in the new boat now your husband can't sleep LOL.
