Unfortunately I did not grow up in the St. Clair area, but my mother's family is from Algonac. My grandfather told me a story once how the marsh area southeast of Algonac used to be a golf course. He said they had a flood one year and decided not to bring the golf course back.

Anybody no if this is true?

Grandpa liked to tell us how he would walked to the course and caddy all day and walk back (up hills both ways of course)

Chuck Brochman would be the man to ask.

You can look his e-mail up in the Macomb Daily boating section.

Stevie1,
St Johns Marsh across from The Colony used to be a golf course. A long time ago... Also the light house in front of The Colony is actually a Water Tower.
