ok class, your assignment for the weekend is to spend at least 3 hours on the water. extra credit will be awarded to those who spend more than 3 hours and anyone who catches a fish will be guaranteed an A+!
have a good weekend all. catch some "bluegills" or just come to kent lake and fish legally for smallies!!!
water is low at the ramps at kent tho. but its worth the hassel launching once you are out there.
i was out on kent lake saturday from 2 pm til 8:30 pm. we caught lots of smallies. took 2 boats out there. i had my buddy scott with me, and my friend mike had his boat out and took my other friend ted. i got 7 with one over 3.5 and one over 4 lbs. mike got 5 with 2 over 3 lbs. scott got 3 with all 3 in the 3lb range and also caught a nice walleye. ted caught one dink. sunday wasnt as prosperous. i think the wind ( or lack of ) had something to do with it. was out from 7 am til 1:30. caught a nice 3.5 smallie at 9:30 and a decent pike at 1:00. got bad sunburn. going back out tonite.
Unfortunately, I had my two brother-in-laws with me on Saturday (neither of whom are diehards) so I didn't really get any productive fishing done. When they weren't complaining about how cold it was or how windy it was, they were snagging everything in the lake. But, I was on the water, and that's what counts! I may be out tonight (Monday) or tomorrow, not sure at this point. Maybe I'll see you out there...Tight Lines!
Went out Sunday 2:00pm to 6:00pm with the boat, first time this year.....managed 14 big crappie(whites) and half a dozen bulls.....and lots of mud bass
. I fished Thames river area...water temp is 45-50 degrees in some canals.
