Just got a new set of knives and was cutting an onion and went a little too deep. Wow, those things are sharp!

Pinch it shut......it may take a bit to get it to stay. If it doesn't......get out the needle and thread
(j/k) Hope you are okay......I've done it many times. Never stitched my fingers up though.

Also, if there is a lot of blood and it won't stop/slow down you should get it fixed.

usually...( and I'm no nurse just a Mom
) if the bleeding won't stop in a decent amount of time ...then you need stiches.

I tried taking off my knuckle a week or so ago. I was told later I should of gotten stitches too. I healed though, finally.

The Lisas are right--if it doesn't stop bleeding in about 15 minutes with pressure and/or if you cut so deep you can see layers or bone, you need stitches. Also, I would get stitches for a child (regardless of the situation) and for a cut on the face or anyplace you don't want a scar.

Good luck!

Now Tommy - stop playing with sharp objects!!
