I realize that this is mainly for Lake St. Clair reports, but I figured I would post this should anybody work or live down in or near Flat Rock and are looking to do some shore fishing. I went to Huroc park last night to do some fishing after work. I have never fished this area before, but was pleasantly suprised. On the parks northern end there is a sizable dam that proved to be a good fishing area. I fished as close as I could to the dam and used a orange/gold colored shad rap. I would cast towards the dam looking for areas where the water swirled on top and tried to land the lure in that area. As the current took the lure I would reel in enough to keep the line tight while twitching the rod tip a bit. This worked well. I only fished for only about an hour and caught a 12" and 16" smallmouth. I still prefer fishing LSC whenever I can, but this was a real nice place to go for a little bit right after work.

nice job. i've been there once w/ stormchaser and rivrat. we were targeting steelhead in early spring. no luck on steelies but other people got some. it was a hotspot for them for a little while. spawn and waxies were the best bet.
