About half of them are associated with this site in some way. None of them are frequent posters. Maybe they are not real frequent posters, but they do post and they do read. Most of them have children in either highschool or middle school. I pay to advertise on this site because I know they see it. I don't have to advertise to the people that hang out all the time, they all know what I do. Many of my customers are afraid to come and hang out with the gang on Tuesday night and other times because they only see what is posted about drinking and partying and whatever else. They aren't interested in that.

A year and a half ago, I joined this site to take part in the fellowship and because it was a pleasent place to hang out on the net with people that I liked. That fellowship is deteriorated to an unpleasent place alot of the time. I am not the only person here with that oppinion. Ask ANY of the veteran posters and see what they think.
Back to my customers, the people that I pay this site to attract, and every other sponsor here too. -- They are looking for that same thing that many of us have found when we first joined, a non-hostile place to hang on the net with people interested in the boating lifestyle.
There are far more visitors to this site than people than go out to our gatherings. The HCN party had what, 300 people?? There are what 2300 members??

that point is true. but most of the people that do post in here are looking for a party or something to do. i do not think you could say that there are only 300 people though.
i am just looking a sponsors here on the board. lets see, i see jacks, tin fish, aristocat limo that is just what i see now. i do think some sponsors are looking for the party people as well. if you think there are only 300 people that go out all the time, take a look at pics from the bay in the summer or any other outing. i argee this is not a porno site and it shouldn't be. but people here like fun that is what brings most peole to this site finding out what is going on. mods do a great job and catch most of the hell doing it. but that is why they are the mods, i have never heard of any of them having a gun to thier head making them do it. everyone likes something a little different. and for those that don't know i am a long time member i was trojan dave before but sold that boat so i switched names.

I know that. Many others including myself don't drink much either. It truely is about the company. By observing the board, no one would know that though. I try to explain that to and sometimes I get people to come out.

I originally joined to learn more about boating and Lake St Clair, ie... where to go on the lake, whats safe, what is NOT, how to do things and to make new friends or at the very least, acquintances (sp?). Working afternoons, I dont get out much at night and in the atmosphere I grew up in, drinking is not a big thing on my "hit" list. I read and post questions about boating and just about everything else I dont know or am looking for more info about or others opinion's on a certain topic. With 2000+ peeps, there has to be a few that help out on just about anything.

Unfortunately I dont follow every thread, as I just cant find the time to. I have mentioned the site to some friends of mine and I find that a lot have already seen it. They tell me why they wont ever belong or register to a "site like that" and I try to explain and teach them what LSCN'ers are all about, but they read the posts and see what their eyes let them see.

I am not sure what is going on and I am not sure I want to. I see and read most of the posts and just hope that things move back to the "family orientated" "boating life" theme. A few try doing that, but many do not see.

i wasn't going to answer, but i feel i should. as a dual sponsor, (me with my ck comp & as a rep of jacks), jacks is ok with most everything, and is VERY interested in what ya'll have to say about jacks. they are willing to fix anything.

as for ck pep clients, yes, i do have some that come here. honest!! and some of my clients ARE concerned about joining because of the unabashed blatent disregard for the rules AND the constant trying of some peeps to push their views and opinions on everyone else. honest! so i tell them, just watch and things will change. they say it's like 'wild woodys' all over again. you know what, i tend to agree in some parts.

things aren't being done about the negitive here. the same peeps that PUSH the boudries still do. it's tired. and as a sponsor, i feel they are not 'pushing it' in a way that is positive. i feel like it's more like a push to see who can cause the most controversy. and this site is not controversial. maybe posting privledges should be taken away?

i am not saying i am right. but for god sakes.... things need to change, and it's only if WE as individuals seek to commit to changing our attitudes so that we can all get along again AS A TEAM!!!!!!

The boathouse is a general chatroom, I guess I don't understand what the people you are talking about expect. It's not like a political chatroom or dating chatroom specifically, it is a GENERAL chatroom. There are numerous areas in this website for people to go, find the area that is right for you. You should be able to talk about anything you want in this chatroom as long as it is within the rules. Maybe the people haven't seen other chatrooms before or something, but maybe everyone should take a moment and check another one out, so then you can come back and realize that this one is totally normal. Everyone has different personalities and not everyone is going to agree with each other, opinions are just that, opinions, the law is the rules listed. That is how life works.

Personally I am in here a lot and there has be a small amount of negative posts or people fighting, but it is not the majority. I ignore it 90% of the time. If you don't like a thread, grin and bear it and move on to one you do like... it's not the end of the world. Have some self control, you don't have to reply to a thread you don't like.

Also, this is the first time I am posting about this subject, so just to let eveyone know, it seems like the people who keep complaining about negativity (no one in particular) are the ones that keep posting about it all the time. The day I don't like what I read in here most of the time is the last day I visit.

Like Pyrate Jim, I joined to learn about boating on Lake St. Clair and maybe meet some folks to share the fun. I like to go to Jack's, but that doesn't mean I have to get falling down drunk when I go there, so arguing that this is a party site because bars advertise here is just reaching for justification (imho).

This negativity will blow over and things will probably come up again that offend. With 2000+ members, someone is bound to see something they don't like. That's life.

I appreciate all the good advice I've gotten from peeps on this site and I'll continue to patronize (in a good way

) the sponsors here.
