and I lost my dollar.

I want my dollar back. I thought it would at least be entertaining at least.

Yup, I don't play much either..... 1 or 2 dollars every now and then.... I can't believe some people you see in there buying $20, $30, $50 or more at a time..... and no I didn't get a single number last night......

I like to buy lottery and raffle tickets now and then.
It's kinda fun and it seems as tho I win lil bits fairly often in relation to how much I play.
1 dollar here 3 there...nothing to write home about.
Its a lil indulgence when I am in a corner store or gas station...
I'd rather be dropping a dollar on a lottery ticket than 5 on a pack of cigarettes !
I don't waste money otherwise...unless you count shoes.

fast story..friend of mine had a dollar change coming back and told the guy at the counter
"just give me an instant ticket"...so she left with her purchase and didn't think too much about it
on her drive home. Stopped at a light and scratched it off...and lo and behold she had won 25 K !!
She laughed because she had tossed the ticket into a tray when she got into the car and only remembered it
when bored at a stop light !
25 K...rare...but true.

i look at it this way:

do you want to have cancer?

or how would you like to get struck by lightening?

or maybe die in a horrible plane crash?

or even just a bloody car wreck?

well, your odds of doing any of those four are greater than winning the big bucks in most lottery schemes... so if you really think you are going to get lucky and win, you must be shitting bricks with the odds against you for unfortunate events to strike you......

lotteries are a tax on the poor and the ignorant...... sure "someone" wins, but 10x"someone" gets mowed down by a drunk driver every day....

don't be a sucker.....

While I would LOVE to win some big bucks on a lottery ticket...for me..isnagging a lottery ticket now and then is just an ocassional thing...usually when I have change coming. I must be lucky coz it seems I am always winning a few bucks here n there
nothing big...just a dollar or five for a one dollar investment.
It's fun and I figure I'm careful how often I play and very careful on what I spend, in all things.
So..I'm ok....dont worry. I'd rather spend 2 dollars on a lottery ticket than 4 bucks on a beer in a bar

SHUT UP YOU PIG! Who cares about your useless lottery with your lucky dollar.

Also if you ever make my wallpaper on my computer Karl (with a K) again I'll choke you until you start twitching.

I dont understand the logic of calling one a sucker for buying a lottery ticket when you are willing to spend $1-$3 more PER beer an a perceived quality notion and taste for a "quality" beer. Its still beer and I am not gonna drink it....

And I am just as gulity for buying Jack and Cokes when Jim Beam is on special. You know why? Because that is what I like. Last I checked it is my right. And if buying a lottery ticket is what someone wants/likes then why degrade them? This logic escapes me....

The time and effort you spend on degrading someone that wants to take a chance on winning it big (albeit a small chance) then so be it! Some people like to use their boats when it is NOT sunny and 85 degrees too!

Holy $hit! Are you guy's glasses always half empty?

Two years ago I quit a pack to pack and a half day of cigs habit; I was pi$$ing away money at the rate of $5-$7.50/day, I smelled, coughed, and got out of breath just thinking about exercise. When I quit I started buying lottery tix twice a week at $5/day. I figured if I could afford to waste $150-200/month on cigs I could afford to try to get rich spending $40/month.

Just my opinion.

I'm not a big gambler so I buy tickets once in a blue moon, however Convincor buys them a few times a month.

I had two separate family members that won a good amount of money playing the lottery. One won over a hundred thousand. Hitting the big pot would be great but I'm not greedy, I just want enough to pay off everything

I spend $10 a week on the Lottery. But, I bring home more than 60 x that much so what's the problem? It's my $10 and I enjoy playing, not that I ever expect to win the big prize.
I have won numerous $1, $2, $3, $5, $7 and $10 prizes. I've won $100 four times and even won a second-chance draw for $700.
If you figure all the money I've spent on the lottery over the years (more than 30 years), I've probably spent 10 x more than I've won. But I still find it fun simply because there is a chance to win big.
On the other hand, I hate going to Casinos. Go figure.

All points are good but can we not afford a few bucks a week? To have a ultra slim chance of winning it big?? I spend 5-10 a week never nothing big but a few 150 winnings and smaller ones never enough to pay what I spent but always a needle in a haystack right some one hase to win it
