All week long the forecast showed 75 degrees and sunny for today! (FINALLY!!)
Even yesterday morning it said 73 and mostly sunny... then I get to the boat, check the weather one last time and it shows clouds and rain all day and we won't even hit 70 degrees!

QUOTE(Grover @ Jun 14 2009, 12:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>It was a great day... no rain, made it out to muscamoot and back to the dock for a party!
m dock is where its at!
I know what you mean Grover. Sure doesn't seem like the middle of June.
Oh well, I've still been having a great weekend on the boat.
Friday was beautiful! Managed to get here about noon. Went and watched the Red Bull trials for a couple hours. Almost rescued a Wayne County Sheriff boat. Their Yamaha died, and they didn't have an anchor! (also followed them last night, and no visible stern light either!
) They wanted me to toss them a line as they drifted by, but just a little too far away.
Saturday meet some new people here at the WYC, and did a little club hipping to another club down on Gross Ile. Fun! I really like our dock neighbor.
Today is lookin' good! Just waitin' on the girls...
We had a great day too! The Red Bull races were cool. But, that F18(??) stole the show in my book. That was f-in' kickass!!!
Boy, did I feel sorry for this (I'm assuming) first time boater family. They were in a small-ish boat, and were stumped as to how to retrieve their anchor (50' of water, clay bottom, 5 mph current, wind, rough, busy). Finally, I tried to yell over some help. Let's just say it is another case that when someone doesn't really know what to do, they end up doing EXACTLY the wrong things. If I were in their situation trying to make it as difficult and dangerous as possible, I'd be hard pressed to out-do this family!
Sunday Rocked! We took my mother-in-law and sister-in-law for a ride up the North channel, round to the South channel, to Riverside (for knots of course), then to the moot to visit. Saw the tot-lot and got to chat with Spacelord and XO. Tied up with Grady Tom, Fitsus, Secret Agent, Partnership (Dan was solo), Newbs and Chriznat.
Convincor was there with the jet boat giving rides in Little Moot. Very cool. Even got to drive Newbs' new jet boat back there. Kinda neat how you can make them go sideways.
