The owner of the pool store down the street screwed up our pool. Told us that we needed to add some stuff we did and now we have what looks like purple sand on the sides and bottom of the pool. We vacuum a small amount and it cloggs the filters then we have to take them out and clean them. We can continue to do it that we but who had 20 hours to spend on a pool?

QUOTE(Heavy Handed @ Aug 5 2009, 10:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I fixed a problem like that once by using the hose as a siphoning devise and vaccuumed the sand out that way. Of course you loose some water too and it doesn't suck as good as it does while vaccuming, but it was a cheap fix at the time.
I'll have to try that Thanks. I called the pool guy from the previous post but he doesn't work in my area

QUOTE(Tony @ Aug 6 2009, 11:09 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I am no expert but it sounds like a nitrate problem we had years ago. We had to treat it with something and then vaccum the sandy stuff out while letting the intake water with the crap in it drain out of the pool. You lose some water but at the time we were told it was the only way to eliminate it. Not sure if that is what is going on with yours or not but it is worth a try.
Problem solved, we vacuumed it out
