Still cant believe summer's over. What happened? Last thing I remember is drinking, partying, and basically having the time of my life w/friends old and new. kbhgtflobnkbutfogbjbgl!!!!!!

You'll have to excuse me.... I think i'm having boating withdraws.

Anyhow... it might be a little pre-mature, but has anyone heard about the planned site for J1 & J2 next year? All rumors are welcome!

While im on my soapbox. Any idea how to educate our fellow boaters on proper boating etiquete(did i spell that right... probaly not). I.E. no glass on the island and/or in the water, taking your trash w/you and my personal biggest gripe.... cigarette butts floating everywhere. I cant be the only one this bugs. Let me know... or if im talking out my a$$... let me know that as well.

i think that it would take away from our time that we do have if it was warm all year. everyone here is like me, they would put it off. you know it is summer, get out on the boat. that is why the lake is so crowded. besides it give me plenty of time to plan. i usually talk about how much fun everything was in the past summer till new years day. after that i start planning for the next year, it makes it go by so much faster. plus i do not take my boat out the first day it starts to get cold. a few people here have been there with me having to shovel snow off the deck before the ride. I remember one time on hazy's baja he would splash the front deck and windshield while driving and it was freezing on the deck. So really do not cry about such a short season, if your boat is out already. mine is coming out december 1 unless the canal freezes first...

It would be nice to go south but I need the winter to rebuild the boating war chest and pay the credit card fuel bills. I remember a couple of years ago a post about Lake St. Clair on another boating board. It was from someone visiting from Florida who came up on Labor day weekend. It was the first Jobbienooner II and I know we had our first Offshoreonly.com fun run that weekend too. This guy said he'd boated in a lot of places but ( from JNII, the Moot, and seeing the fun run -- it was 20 or so boats) had never seen a more rabid group of boaters before. I think it has to do with the fact that we can't go out all year round and make the most of the time we do have.

We still have the anticipation thing all winter. We just aren't feezing while dreaming of the moot, friends, cold drinks, friends, JN, friends...........

No matter where any of us go, no matter what we do, we will never find a better bunch of peeps. Nothing can top this amazing crew.

Nothing like boating with a down filled parka and snowmobile gloves....been there, done that~I really prefer the hot sun beating down on me though <_< dang it, is it summer yet?
