Hello folks

This is Wendy, Jimmy's wife. The first thing that I would like to say is that the business will now be officially called, "Jimmy's Boats Bait & Tackle", which is something that was deemed necessary, however, I would never take the name "Jimmy's" off of this business. The second is about rumors that have frequently flown, not on this site, to my knowlege, but in the vicinity of the business.

I recently FIRED someone, who, to my newfound knowlege, has told many a stranger and regular customers who have walked into this place that he and I were "together". I don't know who may have patronized this place that was exposed to this particular semi-human employee, I am here to tell all that I would rather stick my head up a rhino's a$$ than to have a relationship with anyone right now, let alone that "thing". The ONLY reason why he was here was to work, I also had rented out the upstairs of my home to him to help pay the bills. The things that I have heard are nothing other than rhetoric created by gossip. He was fired and given a choice of either being removed from the premises willingly or by escort provided by the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

I do not find it comfortable to post my personal business, however, I felt that this was necessary. When you lose someone that you care for this much, people tend to take advantage of you, this is a popular place, I not only have to deal with the loss of my husband, I have to deal with the public. Rumors make things all that much more complicated and painful...I'm a kind person in mourning, prime prey. Many people have come into my husband's place of business are like vultures and have told me that they would be willing to take it off of my hands...sorry...it's NOT for sale. This will be Jimmy's as long as I'm still around. Many have been turned away, vicious lies and gossip since my husband's passing have hurt me, but it will NOT persuade me to give up. It just disgusts me. I'm not in the store very much, due to the fact that when something as horrible as what has happened HAPPENS, people are hell bent to twist things and create scenarios that never even happened. My personal life with Jimmy is no one's business, all anyone needs to know is that I love him very much and always will. He is in my heart, not "was". He still is very much a part of me, I stay away from the shop as much as possible because of the fact that people in general love to make tragic events into tragic "fictional" events. I will eventually get back in and run things from the store itself, right now, my family is here and doing a GREAT job. I need TIME to heal. My goal is to make my husband proud and turn this place into what he turned it into....which would be a great place for families to go out fishing and having fun...a great place to sit around and talk and laugh. A place that you want to come back to because it's someplace worth remembering.

I hope that you can all bear with me, I'll get there, given time.

Sincerely,
Wendy Lewandowski

Wendy I can only speak for myself but I support you 100% in your effort to keep the store going and in the honor of how your late husband would of wanted it done. It saddens me to think people would take advantage of anyone in your postion but it sounds like you've got some great family to lean on. Keep up the good work and maybe someday I'll have to stop in for one of those laughs you were talking about.

Wendy, I knew Jimmy and was lucky to have been a member of the Lakes Erie and St. Clair Fishery Advisory Committee with him. He was a good man who cared about Lake St. Clair, it's fishery and the all people who enjoy the lake. You do his memory proud with your love, caring and strenghth.

Hey buddy, i read your post.....those who know and love you believe in you and what's going on at the store. That dude that you fired was just looking for his 15 minutes of fame by saying all of that trash. He is a lowlife, and unfortunately, I am sure there are more just like him out there. Stand your ground, keep the business going based on honesty and integrity, and all of those people who were blind will "see" what's really happening! God bless you, my dear friend....keep the faith and those fish will keep biting! We love you and support you and the family ALWAYS!
