QUOTE(Mini @ Feb 8 2010, 08:57 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I love smallmouth fishing up there in the spring and fall.

They caught an 8lber out of there a couple of years ago in a BASS federation event...

I haven't been overly successful up there but it has to be one of the nicest areas and lakes that I have fished....I have only fished up there in the summer and struggled puting anything together....If it is calm enough the Grand Traverse bay is a blast also...

Same here. I'm usually up there for a week in August and just can't quite get a pattern. Last year was better, and we got into a bunch of short ones that thought they were 8 lbs. Man they're fun!

Two years ago my wife hooked one about 5 lbs. and lost it at the boat.

QUOTE(alarmstrong1239 @ Feb 7 2010, 09:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Has anyone fished up there?

I grew up in Boyne City but haven't been up there in many years. I also have a cousin who has a charter fishing business in Boyne...........Give him a call and ask what's biting......
