was up there a few weeks ago, caught a few perch but was targeting the eyes, that lake gets deep quick and theres a hell of a drop of on the north east cornor of the lake, i did see a group of shanties in front of young state park

I haven't been overly successful up there but it has to be one of the nicest areas and lakes that I have fished....I have only fished up there in the summer and struggled puting anything together....If it is calm enough the Grand Traverse bay is a blast also...

Same here. I'm usually up there for a week in August and just can't quite get a pattern. Last year was better, and we got into a bunch of short ones that thought they were 8 lbs. Man they're fun!
Two years ago my wife hooked one about 5 lbs. and lost it at the boat.
