Well Lake Hudson was good to us this trip. On the way there we did run into some problems when I had a trailer tire go flat. Ateast we were in Adrian when that happened and I had to go get a lug wrench since the trailer lugs were bigger than the ones for the truck. After camp was setup we started casting near one of my favorite spots. Not even an hour into casting I had a monster High 40s to 50 follow up to the boat I got her turned around and she took the lure boat side. But it was not meant to be she only got one hook in the upper jaw and she threw it after some violent head shakes. But we got to the fish it was a great sight. Not 10 min later my friend had another one hit boat side and it shook the hook. We left that area to give the fish some time and later that day my friend landed a nice 33in muskie in the same area. After that they were done for the day. Friday we got no follows and I got one LM bass a little over 3lbs. Sunday we were both tired from gathering fire wood and chopping it up. We did some casting and then decided to troll around. I put the lines way back 50-75 yards out with just 2 poles to keep it simple. The first hit I thought for sure I had a muskie but it turned out to be a 10lb catfish. For all of the years I have fished this lake I never caught one let alone have one hit a bucktail at 3.5mph. We laughed and not 20min later I got another hit but this one was splashing like crazy and we soon found out it was a beautiful 36in muskie. This muskie is a new personal best for me in this lake. Later my friend ended up catching another catfish trolling. It was just weird. Overall it was one of our best trips to Hudson since it is not very big and gets lots of pressure.
Nice catch. I camped there once on a reccomendation for the fishing and didn't fair well at all. Wasn't in love with the campground either A few more tears when all of the young trees mature around the camp sites it will be a nice place. Thinking of making a day trip down that way for some action. Again nice catch and some great looking fish.
Zib u should know the "Big Sexy" caught My Muskie and the catfish. The LM bass and the big follow/Brief Hookup I had was on the new "Super Sexy" The other muskie was on mepps black and yellow bucktail.
