Going up north to lovells to stay on the au sable and do some fly fishing. Thinking of trying Otsego. has anyone fished it recently or familiar with the lake? I herd its not bad for perch and walleye but i have a pretty good stash in the freezer so im open to fishing for whatever. any info would help

I guess you have to start a meaningless tread in order to get a response
Otsego has turned into an ecceptional Walleye fishery over the last few yrs. That would be your best bet to try. Who knows you may even tie into a tiger muskie
GOOD LUCK!

Perch was good when I fished it. minnows on bobber worked great

finally someone thank you schram
I used to catch lots of perch out there on the pt north of the state park. Some good sized bass and pike in there as well. Minnows worked the best for perch.

for sure. Now I think about it I remember the weed bed being right out in front of the state park beach.

Like here its been cooler here up north also. my uncle lives near otsego lake and fishes all of the local lakes he has been using harnesses(really slooww) during the day(either troll or drift), long A bombers, and hot n tots in the eve trolling. minnows on a slip bobber from prime time 12 am. be sure to hit Jays while your there its located on old 27 and I 75. but if your staying in Lovells you could try West Twin lake in lewiston, lake margheride in grayling, big bear lake in vienna corners. or even tee lake in lewston. I hope I could help
Thanks alot guys. I always make a stop up at jays, i like to support them. Ive fished west twin before not bad and ive been to the others just never fished them. Wheres the nearest baitshop for minnows around otsego?
It sounds alot like the same way you fish houghton which I practically grew up on as a kid.
My parents live on big bear. They planted walleyes there for years. My biggest was 28" a few years ago. They just stocked it with musky this year.
