Mostly what cause's line twist is the lure spinning in the air when you cast and bringing in the salad. So if your line is looping around your rod tip when you give it slack, You Got Line Twist.

The best way to get rid of it would be to motor or drift letting nothing but line out till your satisfied you got enough out to equal what you cast or troll with. Now let it un-twist for a few minute's than wind it back up pinching the line to snug it on the spool.

Sure when the fish run's and your cranking that cause's line twist also but that doesn't happen as much as the later.

h2o<---says try it next time and when your done fishing for the day.
