Hello,

I'm a new member to this board, though I've been lurking for a while now.
I thought I would tell some of the results from the Prop & Sail open tournament on Lake Erie last Sat.
First place brought in 18 pounds and some change and cashed a $1900 and change check.
I believe second place brought in 17+ pounds of bass.
My partner and I brought in 15.85 pounds of smallies and took sixth place for a $100 pay out.
We caught our fish in Canadian water and only managed to boat 6 keepers all day. We lost a couple nice ones at the boat that would have boosted our weight for the better.
I like the way the tournament is run with Prop & Sail. They do a great job of making sure you get your fish out of your livewell, weighed and released in a very short timely manner.

My partner and I also had a tough day. We only managed 3 keepers. The muddy water through us for a loop. I think if we would have stayed on are original spot we could of caught a decent limit. We left are spot looking for clear water which never happened. The lake was tough. I give credit to everyone who cashed a check great job. The day we had makes you wonder why we even fish tournaments!

 Mike Closson and Shane Carey won with just under 19 pounds. No big suprise, they have been taking my money for years on Lake Erie. I just met the two of them this week-end for the first time on a personal basis. These two are good people. Great attitudes, friendly and heck of anglers.

Why don't you two go fish some inland tournaments and give the rest of us a chance? LOL

These guys are the Erie kings. How in the heck did they manage almost 19 pounds on a day that totaly stunk?

I fished dirty water all day from Bar Point to Point Pelee and never saw a speck of clean stuff. I'm very impressed with anyone who caught a limit, let alone 19 pounds.

Great job, I hope your not at the next event, if you are, I'll just give you my entry fee prior to the event and save myself the trouble of competing.

Clapper's the man. Looks like you had to be one of the Big Dogs to cacth a good bag.

Nice try MC. Luck is one out of 100 not every outing.

Gratious of you but get real. I never saw less than 18 out of your livewell.

I'm goin to get you one of these times.

QUOTE(deadstick @ Jun 30 2004, 07:23 AM)Clapper also caught over 18#'s in Erie to win saturday's BFL on St. Clair. I don't think he could have fished for 2hrs total as rough as it was saturday morning. 140 miles one way!
The thing that amazes me....in BFL they do it alone, not as a team. Great finish by him and Reault and Modrak. I can't fathom running all that way to fish a short time in dirty water...and still perform.
