<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Not that I do not appreciate "PD giving me a pass", when I purchased my truck, I did explain the situation in this forum and of course everyone had there opinions. I wonder though how many people really look at what they own; electronics, clothing, etc... Short of the Amish, no one is exempt from purchasing foreign items. But go ahead and hypocrytically narrow the blame on people who purchase "foriegn made" vehicles. I am sure those of us who do, only do it to intentionally harpoon southeast Michigan. Probably it is the only reason Michigan is in the shape it's in.
Rather than "kudos" for promoting this boating website, I will be questioned as to my loyalty to the region.
Nah, we were just poking fun Sailor - be confident of your decision and have many happy miles with your truck!
My BIL will only buy Nissan, after he logged 340,000 trouble free low maintenance miles on his 1st Nissan (87 Nissan Pulsar), he figured he'd use my Dads Chrysler discount and bought a 1995 Intrepid ES in 1994. After 2 transmissions, a valve job, several A/C compressors, the timing belt finally skipped a tooth at 90,000 miles and with a few car payments left, he paid it off and went back to Nissan (mind you - he still had the Pulsar the whole time he had the Intrepid and still drove that occasionally too). He now has a 2002 Nissan XTerra approaching 200,000 miles.
Am I promoting anything other than the big 3? As far as Im concerned its ones own decision and if you feel guilty about what you buy then you knew the repercussions beforehand. You only get to live once - why let somebody dictate what you should drive, ya know?
