Friday night on the 10:00 news channel 4 reported that someone jumped off a boat that was being towed back from gull. They said it happend at about 8:30 and that the person was still missing. They had live pictures of the sheriff boats and the CG copter searching. That was the last thing that I heard. Does anyone know anything about this?
The sheriff at Metro told me Saturday the guy jumped off in shallow water. They later found him at his house in SCS. It was a good samaritan towing the boat. Who knows why he jumped off?
know that the guy jumped because he was mad at his cousin and was Highly intoxicated. The search lasted for several hours. The "jumper got a ride back to a BAR and that is where he called home from. Several hours, Coat Guard heilo, sherriff boats, DNR, Boarder patrol all looking for him. This is the type of things that hurts the party in the news. What do you think they will remember next year?
Gary864 I just wanted to say that I think it's great to have you as a member of LSCN. The insight you can give to us because of your profession and expertise only helps the boaters (and lurkers too)
Thanks for keeping us posted and thanks for your insight - what a great addition you've been to LSCN!

Not the fact that OUIL's were down I will bet
So, no one thought to check his house first? It was just assumed he was still in the water? Or did all this searching go on before he even got/called home?
QUOTE(Gary864 @ Jun 30 2003, 01:31 PM)We searched for hours before the dumba$$ called home. We had messages at all of his families homes. Just took him that long to PHONE HOME!!!!!
Now, will he get fined for something like that?

If someone fell off my boat that would be the first thing I would do, check his house.

QUOTE(threecrabs @ Jun 30 2003, 01:48 PM)What a dumb [email protected]$$! The rest of us behave ourselves and one guy like this will be broad-casted all over the news....Thanks, buddy!
Naturally we want to portray a good image and reputation and no offense to the law on the water and the coast guard, but unfortunatly dealing with drunks and stupid people is part of their job, J/N or no J/N, our job is not to be the drunk stupid idiot.
Who cares what the media says? Screw em. They dont own me or by my baby pampers
Yeah anyways regaurdless what they say it wont change or effect the way we act on the water, yeah I drink a lot who doesnt, just got to use common sense and behave yourself. Oh yeah and respect the other boaters on the lake.
