Our little group in our marina are really into cooking. Things that we've done in the past:

Smoked a small pig
Smoked turkeys
Deep fried turkeys
Beer can chickens
Smoked ham
Lobster boil
BBQ lobsters
Deep fried ribeyes
Wings

Looking for new ideas for this year besides the usual hotdogs and burgers.

What about Deep Frying Quail! Or a Fish Fry!

Deep Fried Turkey's are so good!! We use our Deep fryer all the time!

??????????

Well there call beer can chicken, even though I don;t use the beer can.

Take a whole chicken, use your favorite rub (I use Ms dash for chicken).
Put beer in a empty soup can add garlic, rosemary, whatever you like. Place the chicken's as$ over the soup can and put on the grill. Cover the tips of the legs in foil so they don't burn and cook for an hour or so.

Very easy, once it starts to cook you don;t need to touch it until it's done.

QUOTE(rfdeiter @ Apr 16 2003, 01:39 PM)Deep fried ribeye??????

I receives a turkey fryer as a gift and on the box of oil was a recipe for deep fried ribeyes. Heat the oil and throw in the steak, no breading or anything. It wasn't bad, but we used like a two pound piece of meat, so it was a little to thick.

But the peanut oil does add excellent flavor to any fried food.

Grilled stuffed chicken breasts - cut the chicken like a bagel, not all the way through though. Stuff pepper jack cheese in it, then marinate it in a combination of salsa (1/3 cup) and italian dressing (1/2 cup) and then grill, use the extra sauce while grilling. Yummy!
