Don't know if anybody fishes the river much but there are humps in the shipping channel that can go from 30ft to 20ft.Problem is a marker bouy gets sucked under by the current & the current keeps your boat moving.Any idea's on how to fish a tough spot like this.A marker bouy would be great but I have lost a few to the depths.

I watched a lot of bass boats crossing the flats behind fighting island on Saturday.Guys the depths are as shallow as 1ft.Stay in the channels.Water levels are dropping now also.

Using a anchor and alot of rope: then use a 3-way swivel and pencil plugs. Use enough weight to get down there but try for a 45 degree angle. Pull the rod foward let it fall back, keep doing that and just hold on and get ready, also put some scent on the plugs.. Also toss a tall marker and use lite line to get it down, put the marker on the shallow side of the channel, meaning don't throw the marker in the deep water throw it off to the side of the channel in the shallow water...

h2o<---------use lite line 4-6 lb. smoke fireline!!!!!!!!!!
