If anyone cares to read the details I will post, but I will save people time of the book length post I made and just let you know that their service billing and customer service over there are less than desirable, at least now that they have an owner's family member trying to be a "general manager" over there.

Boaters beware.

Warning fellow boaters about something "not right" out there ... I like it.

But I thought you were the one didnt?

Regardless of rattling your chain, Ive heard this before. I think I actually made a thread about it a few years ago... was looking at a boat there and received some information that lead to my purchase at another marina.
best to just stay away from the one.
dealt with them in the past, bought a NEW BOAT THERE ALSO IN 98, AND ANY WORK OR anything THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE, WAS ALL JUST A JOKE DEALING WITH THEM!
I WOULDNT EVEN STEP FOOT IN THAT PLACE TO VIEW A BOAT (opps, cap lock accident) if they had one listed and it was my dream boat and the only one in thearea.

Chriznat, not sure what you mean by "But I thought you were the one didnt?". If you meant I don't like warning fellow boaters about things "not right" I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. Dont' worry about rattling my chain. Tell me how it is!

Let's just say I had one bad experience there and would never do business with them

It's bummer to hear this..
I bought a boat there before and had a really good experience w/ them.

I bought my boat from them and had nothing but bad experiences. I will never step foot in that place again!!!
It's been a mixed bag for us, but since this "GM" showed up last fall, all downhill. Basically it's useless to say anything because he's family.
On the subject of "questionable" service, I'd not let Sommer's Marine at Belle Maer work on my boat if they were the last mechanics on the lake. Way back when I was a shiny new boater, I had them prep my boat for launch in the spring. This was a BRAND NEW boat, only used one season. They told me they aligned the drive and changed my engine oil. And replaced all the zincs on the outdrive, as they were nearly gone. Hmmm.

Then wanted to bill me almost $500 for the $99 spring special.

I get to the boat and find the shrink wrap intact, and the original zincs right there, never moved a millimeter. When I called them out, they said they were mistaken about the oil change and that they aligned the drive from outside the boat (and the drive *did not* look like it had been off the boat!). Oh, and they "put the original zincs back on."

Liars, as far as I'm concerned.
