A look at what's ahead.

Looks like a sloppy end to the work week, followed by a monster storm system moving our way just in time for Halloween. Saturday is shaping up to be a bit nasty this year with strong gusty northwest winds, rain mixing with snow at times, and much cooler temperatures. In terms of the severe weather threat for Friday, it has pretty much been omitted from our area as not all the ingredients will be in place. Expect cooler temperatures, and some gusty winds there after.

The only thing that killed this event, and prevented it as of now from becoming an explosive tornado outbreak across the entire area is the lack of surface based instability.
Still 2 days out though, and all it would take is a tiny bit of sunshine (instability) to get 'er going strong again!
