monday Morning Smallies

Took my 11 year old son Stevie out this morning off the mile roads. Hit the water at 8:15-left at 10:30. Fished the mile roads in 6-10 FOW. Nice steady smallie action-landed 12, lost 5 at the boat (Stevie wanted to do the nettin' ). Almost all fish 14-16"-nothing over 16 1/2. All fish came on spottails off slips-not even a hit on artificials (and it wasn't for lack of trying! I tossed x-raps, shad raps, deep crayfish and 4 different tubes at 'em-nothing!). Anyway, it was a GREAT morning on the lake! Can't wait to go again.
