I have a 25 hp ele start yahama 4 stroke. now my question is dose it have an altranater or does it drain the battery over time? i do run a fishfinder and live well pump and bilge pump plus a trolling motor on back. before eyery trip i slap the charger on it but it seems to keep a good charge.I was just wundering? thanks for any info...

check the owners manual or seach it online by the model number and year, i am sure it does, usually the newer ones (20 years or less) at least use the stator as a battery maintainer/ trickle charger.

thanks timeye it was a new motor in 2003 i dont have a owners manual for it but i figured something like that.
