There is a nice bay at the north peak of the lake in Algonac. I know it as Munchie Bay. It's warm, clear and has a soft sandy bottom. The water is fresh because it comes fromt he north channel.

I never hear anyone talk about it on here. I've been there many times and it's always packed. There is no Z-Man or raft, but people are still out there doing their own thing and it's nice.

Just curious what people think about that bay.

but then what the heck do you do there?

Not have to listen to him on his microphone!! Or his music!!!

No offense to Zman, or to his music, but sometimes it's nice to get away from all of the activity in the Moot.

QUOTE(JABBERJAWZ @ Jun 9 2004, 01:56 PM)I planned on being there more this summer than Muscamoot.
I would like to see an LSCN party up there in that bay this year more often. A change in pace would be good once in a while.

Here's my idea: The first LSCN skip day should be up there. And then after the day, off to The Sand Bar.

What do you all think?

Sounds good to me. Maybe then I can finally meet some of you people!

BTW, where exactly is the SandBar? Does anyone have their address? I've probably been there before but don't recall exactly where I was when I was there...

Steer your course to:

42.39.84N by 82.37.413W

That should get you pretty close!

They are an LSCN sponser, so go check them out!

That's my main spot to anchor - am there every weekend, Saturday & Sunday.

The mood is low key and those of us who see it as our place want it to stay that way. Loud music and amplified voices can stay in the moot, please. This is a very family and old fart friendly little spot.

Having said all that. it does get kind of crazy when things warm up. Generally, everyone anchors with a single line off the bow and swing with the wind. When a group comes and parks right next to you, and anchors out in two or more directions so they won't swing, they foul the whole thing up. That's when my friends and I pull our boats out and move north along the coast, more into the corner between the Sandbar and the little grass island by Bouvier Bridge marina. We all like a little elbow room.

So if you want a nice relaxing spot where you can take the kids or sit and read or nap, come on up. If you want to raise some hell, go to Muskamoot or Gull.

That spot is actually my pike spearing grounds in the winter. They come in there by the hundreds. It's commonly refered to as "Munchies Bay" because the resturant right there USED to be called Munchies.
I think we should re-name it something like LSCN Bay or Peeps Bay.

Let's here some ideas for a new name.
Maybe we should start a poll for this but Munchies-Bay name has got to go!!!
