Hi I'm asking for some musky advise. My buddy and I are planning a trip to try and get a photo op with a musky, however we have never fished or caught one. We are planning on trolling with bucktails on planer boards. That is our plan but we dont know what we are doing. Any advise on technique, speed, and water depth would be great. We will be there on Sunday, July 18th. Thanks

Do a search on the website for muskie reports. Been lots of threads and posts regarding this topic within the past 2 weeks. However, basically use 2-6 oz of weight, 30-50 feet of line, and go 4 mph. Almost all depths are produing fish lately from 5 fow to 20 fow. Keep the weeds off and if you put in enough time you will catch some fish. Most of the lake is crystal clear right now, so look for stained water.

i agree with what little guy said ive been out alot this year and its been all over on baits and depths. some days body baits others bucktails. its alot easier on bucktail bite days, gold or silver blade not too hard to figure out. body baits on the other hand can be a little harder,straight/jointed, white/yellow belly, and then all the different brands that have different actions can make dialing in a little tougher with a small crew. if something dont work after an hour or so change it up/ lead length/weight/lure/speed your trolling/depth of water.
