Dont know exactly why, but they were letting people through on the shoulder when I went by. Lots of tire marks, the guardrail on the river side was impacted and a macomb cty sheriffs car was damaged on one side. Road had tons of police taking photos and measuring, looked like the car involved hadnt moved from where it eventually stopped as the tracks led directly to the tires. I am curious what exactly happened figured it would come out sonner or later this evening.

QUOTE(Deep Devotion @ Jul 13 2009, 12:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>So....Does anyone know??????

Heard the sirens Sunday morning about 9:00 and thought it was something huge gone wrong, nope, two of Macomb counties finest ran into each other (based on witness account). I went to West and came back after 11:00 and they were STILL investigating? WTH?
Also if you notice the big gray house across from the entrance to MacRay's with the nice Escalade on cinder blocks without tires and rims, they were stolen the night before, is this related? Don't know.

That's Don Gooley's house of Don Gooley Cadillac.

We heard about this as we didn't get home until late last night. One of the sheriff's ran into the guard rail there. Didn't know it was another sheriff that had run into him. From what we were told they had the place pretty well secured as there ended up with quite a few sherriff cars there surrounding the area and wouldn't let anyone stop to look/gawk for too long before they shuffled you through.

This is pretty interesting and has me wondering.....there was an unmarked Sheriff car sitting on the shoulder where this accident happened when I came home about 4:00 pm today. Obviously a supervisor or higher officer.

I think it is kind of fishy that this story never made the news. Did the po po tell the media to keep the story out of the news?

Unless someone died I'm not sure a vehicle accident is news worthy....

that would be true for every day run of the mill citizens; however if the accident involved one or more of Macomb counties finest that should be news worthy.

Happens all the time. Those cars are on the road 24/7. They are in accidents quite often. Nothing newsworthy about it.

I drive by my local DPW everyday and am amazed at the damaged patrol cars I see in the lot.

When I drove through there on Sunday morning they were surveying the area, usually that only happens when there is a fatality.

Kinda like the story about the 38' Cigarette that ended up in Metro park a couple years ago ... nothing in the news, just like it never happened.

Lots of news stories about that one.

DropOut - you are right. Usually a fatality if they are doing a lot of measuring. But I suspect if there was it would be on the news. Maybe they were doing that because of an internal investigation??

Who know...

Funny my doctors nurse and I were just talking about this Friday. She had been on his boat before this accident. She likes cruisers now
