Alright damnmit! I just spent 3 months building my hot tub room, finally finished the wiring last night and now I get a gound fault. Any electricians out there that would like a side job to help me out? 586 292-1526 Tom

tango will help, is the GFCI tripping? if so, may not be a problem with your wiring, could be a problem with the hot tub

did you check the wiring with a tester?

is it hard wired to the panel or is it a plug in type unit?

what year was your home built, are all the circuits grounded and the main panel grounded properly?

I had the same thing with mine. Took forever to find the problem. It was a common/ground thing at the main box, not the GFI box. Good luck.

House was built in 2001, I live down the street from Moneyshot, not that I have met him, yet.

I wired up an 8 year old tub that I had sitting for 3 years. Used a 50 amp GFI in the box and then used a 4 wire 50 amp cable to a emergency fuse box, then wired that to the box in the tub. I have a friend looking at it tonight and then when he gives me that dopey look and says, "damn, beats the heck out of me, I can't find it", then I will have to call Tango7 for help

I am hooked up! Tango 7 gave me hints over the phone and I got it running, 101 degrees this morning, this winter project is finally over. Moneyshot, I walled off half of my third garage, finished the drywall, ran a bunch of electrical, and put in a heat vent. I had the builder put in a doorwall on the back of the garage when they built the house.

Tango 7, I owe you beers, thanks a bunch.

Moneyshot, give me a call, I could probably put those outlets in for you.

That sounds awesome! We don't have a third garage, so that explains it! I will have Ed (my husband) give you a ring.
