I hear they are catching perch out at Grass Island. That is such a big area......I am very unfamilar with that whole area. Where do you begin? By the island? Out in deeper water? Weeds?
Thanks in advance
There is a wed bed that runs East - West as it comes out of the North Channel.
I usually fish the south side of the wed bed. I anchor up about 25 yards from the wed bed, and toss my spreader rig just outside the wed bed.
You can also find good numbers of perch right in the reeds of Grassey.
2lb test and a ultra-light rod rigged with a small (1/12 tube bait) tipped with a piece of night crawler.
You can also get some good perch along the channel edges of the north channel in the reeds beds comming out of the north channel.
