St. Clair Shores Civic arena rents out rooms, nothing fancy but cheap. We had a holloween party there once. Give parks and recs a call.

I know it's farther than you wanted to go, but Bouvier Bay Boat club has a nice li'l clubhouse with small kitchen facilities. Someone at Mariner's could probably pull some strings for you with the Board there.

Don't know how much they charge to rent the place, but it is updated and clean.

There is a HUGE basement over at NU Delta we like to wear hot pink and getting a hot tub soon. Our sorority house is between 24 and 25. You have to talk to Mama S first thought she's our sorority mother.

check local Churches as many have rooms that will accomodate smaller groups. We used a church hall for our wedding and we had over 250 guests, it saved us a ton of money. Many cities also have community centers you can rent out. Remember to check your local VFW, Elks, PLAV, and other lodges & posts.

With a September date you can consider outside venues too. Covered pavillions can be a nice alternative. Belle Maer has a pavillion that they rent out, they might even allow a ceremony at the gazebo overlooking the lake. Not sure of the particulars, but it might be worth a call. I know they have rented it out for other weddings and have had outside boat clubs rent the pavillion as well.

2ond that

I think you have to use their caterer at Metro right?? Not sure Mark would want to do that!!

not if you supply your own food. There are ways around it. I wouldn't use her under any circumstances though. She added unnecessary costs and didn't supply what was promised, not even close. She was the hospitality side of the catering. The food was good, but that was the culinary side. Also, The chef was a close family friend, so we came up with the specific recipes for each dish together.
